Get out and buy something sexy, for the man in your life!
Knock him off the sofa, when you surprise him in your new sexy lingerie, when he’s expecting you to come into the room in your old nightgown, that you usually wear.

Can you remember how fun it was in the beginning of your relationship, to flirt?

First date conversation starters can be quite easy, IF you stay away from
those controversial “taboo” subjects, and play it safe! At least on your
first date.

Hot First Date Topics To AVOID

•Keep Sex Out Of The Conversation – I’m sure this one shouldn’t be too
hard to tackle. As most of you looking for a life time companion, wouldn’t
jump into bed after the first date.

•Religion & Politics – This hasn’t changed from the dating rules of 30
years ago. It wasn’t good then, and it certainly isn’t good now.

•Dollars & Cents Questions – Man or woman, you never want to come across
as a “gold digger”. Your intention should be, connecting with a compatible
person, not what they have.

•Never Ask Anyone’s Age – I know this isn’t a new revelation. Things
haven’t changed over the years. I myself never like to divulge my age.
Especially since many people think I look younger than I am.

Besides, does it really matter how old someone is? As long as two people are
compatible, what’s age … you’re right, it’s only a number.

•Travel – This is always a safe bet. Ask your date where their favorite
travel destination is. Why they love it so much, where they stayed and where
is the next spot they are wanting to visit.

This question could end up being the conversation of the evening! Possibly

•Ask About His/Her Family – This says a lot about a person. A person’s
character shines through with the words they use to talk about their family.

•Ask About Children – This topic I should have moved up to the number one
spot, as it’s very close to my heart.

I was well passed the “rearing” of my kids, let alone someone else’s
children.

•Passions & Interests – This is a great first date conversation topic! You
can quickly find out if he/she has  interests other than watching the “boob
tube”(television) everyday.

If you are an outgoing person, you need to know this up front.

•Ask Open Ended Questions – If your date is a little on the shy side, it’s
easy for them to answer “yes” and “no” questions. Ask questions, that need
some type of response …. example: What do you like to do in your free
time?

There you have it! This doesn’t seem too difficult does it?

Far be it from the truth!

I was reading an article the other day, which of course sparked my attention.

Sex for adults over 50 was described as being “cute and somewhat gross, if it’s happening at all”!

Would somebody please inform these people, that sexuality doesn’t come with an expiration date!!!

As you see, these people are totally misinformed, regarding the relationships that we all want, or are having, once we reach the half-century mark.

I’m certainly not the only Baby Boomer on this planet that totally disagrees with this rubbish!

The Boomers, I know, over the age of 50, (including myself), say their sex life is the most satisfying, they have ever had.

Are you enjoying your sex life?

Boomers, realize there is a lot more to sexual attraction than just physical appearances (tight butts, firm breasts), I think you get my drift.

Boomers are finding attraction, at much deeper levels. This is why sex over 50 is much more fulfilling.

We can appreciate the value in our relationships. The inward beauty of our partner.

Besides, who would take outward beauty when the insides are an emotional roller coaster just waiting to derail?

By midlife, you know your own body and your partner’s, intimately, and hopefully, you’ve figured out how to communicate what you find pleasurable.

Being comfortable, unleasing your sexual inhibitions, and embracing your sexual confidence, results in better sex for both of you.

These key areas, are why boomers are finding that sex is more satisfying over the age of 50.

Just as important, sex is more emotionally fulfilling when we hit our fifties and beyond.

Our hormones have finally taken a back seat, and we are driven now, by desire to share ourselves with a partner.

By the time we’ve reached the half century mark, many of us have speculated the grass might be greener on the other side, so we put ourselves out to pasture far from the familiar herd we once grazed alongside.  It wasn’t long ago I found myself struggling to stand my ground like a shaky colt about to negotiate rough terrain for the first time.  It had been nearly a quarter of a century since I’d been single and on my own by choice.  What most women take care of routinely during the course of a lifetime had eluded me.  I never so much as licked a stamp, wrote out a check, used an ATM, or handled money even though I contributed substantially to the state of the union.  I didn’t know what it was to pull up to a gas pump at a filling station, let alone pump my own.

I learned to shoulder a lion’s share of responsibility for myself a little at a time with the support of my mother and sister– the wind beneath my wings. Alas, the close female friendships I once held dear had been forged by similar circumstances, a painful lesson learned shortly after my declaration of independence.  Single women instill resentment in those still trapped in their own discontent and disillusion. Though I first grappled with my imposed exile, I’ve come to terms with estrangement.

A newfound sense of empowerment gradually washed over me in morsel sized increments.  Not only have I mastered all of the aforementioned tasks, but I’ve become quite adept at shaping my own destiny and managing my affairs—financial, that is.  I’m quite guarded and protective of my privacy, wary to befriend and trust. Nevertheless, I commend anyone who makes the daunting decision to trample over the spoils and venture where the grass is greener despite its heavy toll. You cannot put a price tag on liberation and self-fulfillment.

I think it gets a little harder to meet new people as we get older. I know that when I was younger, I was involved in a lot more activities with people who were open to connecting on different levels. Then, when my kids were younger, I tended to meet the parents of their friends. But now, as my kids go off on their own a lot more, I tend to be stuck in a rut where I never meet anybody new.

Where Have You Met Friends in The Past?

The one good thing about being in our second half century is that we have a lot of experience to fall back on. So consider your friendships. How did you meet the people who have been important to you in the past? I think one of the best ways to connect with people is to find others who have common interests. So maybe the first thing to do is to engage yourself in some activities you enjoy.

This could be as simple as taking a class or attending a professional networking group. You could also volunteer for a local charity or house of worship. Take tennis lessons or join a bowling team. These activities will probably make your life better anyway, and they are great places to connect with new people!

Sometimes Old Friends Are The Best Friends

I have been connecting with a lot of old friends on social networking sites like Facebook.com. I have really been happy to rekindle some friendships with people that I hung with 20 years ago but lost touch with. They are still great people, and it really is easier to reconnect than to make new friends.

Even if you do not live in the same city as your old friends, it is great to communicate with them online. And in my case, some do live in my same metro area, so I have made plans to see them every so often. And with one old friend who moved away, we planned a wonderful summer get together in a city that was between our two cities.

In some ways it can be a lot harder to get back on the dating scene after 50. A lot of us feel silly doing the things we did when we were 25 to attract potential mates. The club scene seems sort of alien to us now. And some of us, it is true, do not feel as confident about our appearance as we did.

Now is the time to approach dating the way we should have in the first place!

Looking for Love after 50 in all the Right Places!

Remember that old song, Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places? Well it was pretty popular because many of us spent the 1980′s doing just that! But now we’re older and wiser, and I think we realize that the best matches will probably come from places we already are.

Some of the best dating advice involves getting involved in activities that interest you anyway. You will certainly enjoy them, learn new things, and meet some new friends. If a new friend turns into a love interest, that is certainly a bonus!

• You can turn to websites like Meetup.com to find all sorts of groups that meet in your local area.  This is a great website, and it lists groups for just about anything you can think of from professional activities to people who just like to meet for movies.
• You could also consider taking classes, joining a cooking, book or bike club, or looking for other activities that will probably include a mix of peope of the other gender.
• Get involved in volunteer activities. These is a great way to feel good about doing good, and possibly to make some new friends.
• I know one couple, married today, who found a great second love after meeting at a dance class. They both wanted to learn how to dance, and they got to dance at their own wedding!

Try to remember what you used to enjoy when you were younger. Have you dropped that hobby or activity because you were too busy with your ex or your kids? Maybe now, that you are single, you could allocate a little chunk of your schedule to dive back in. You may feel refreshed. You may be able to pick that spark of youth right back up!
