Iteresting Richard – but do you also have kids at home or a spouse under 50. I wonder how that works out. We have people in different age groups or places in their lives here – so it isn’t all the same.

I saved around $300 when I switched my home and car insurance to AARP / The Hartford. I guess it works for some and doesn’t for others.

Yeah, it really depends upon your family situation. I know that the nice cheap policy I had when I just had to cover “grownups” went out the windown when my daughter got her license. Then we did switch to a more “teen friendly” company.

Agreed – I actually switched from Progressive to Allstate because when I bundled all the family insurance (including the kid, the house, etc.), they came in much cheaper. I know that was an individual thing though – so it pays to compare.

I agree that AARP / The Hartford attract our attention with their over 50 car insurance promotions – but they don’t always work out the cheapest. Like the song says, you’ve got to shop around!
