It Pays To Compare RV or Mobile Home Insurance!

We published an article on the fulltime RV lifestyle, and it has been quite popular over the last few months. In the spirit of following up on our popular articles, and to respond to questions we have had (and had no answer for), we thought we'd follow up with one important consideration, and that is insuring that RV or Mobile Home.

Note, that this can also be of interested to those who life in manufactured homes, even if they are not meant to be mobile.

Which RV Insurance Company Is Best?

We never answer those types of questions with one particular company because we do know that your own best choice will depend upon a lot of things, and one of the biggest things is where you park the thing at night! Look at this zip code search for RV Insurance Discounts to help you find some choices though!

Are There Over 50 RV or Mobile Home Discounts?

We have snooped around and found quite a few insurers who offer 55+ RV and Mobie Home Discounts! So the answer is yes if you add 5 years.

We also saw discounts for being the original owner of a fairly new home. Plus, the usual safety features and anti-theft device discounts apply, just as you would find for any home policy. And of course, some insurers will reward you with a nice discount for placing your policy with the same company you also insure your auto with. So in this way, there are similarities bestween this and any home policy.

How Can I Learn More About RV and Mobile Home Discounts?

If you are a reader, we urge to you take a couple of minutes to browse this article: Mobile Home Insurance Discounts

It is well organized, and summarizes some price breaks to look for.

I haven't logged in for a few days, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm still trying to shed some pounds!

I have been concentrating on :

1. Trying to only eat when I'm hungry - but if I have cravings that are not really hunger - I'm trying to satisfy them by drinking water or tomato juice or something like that - if that isn't working, I try to move up to a handful of nuts (enjoyed slowly) or some other source of natural protein.

2. When I have meals, I'm not really watching fat or calories (though I ty to avoid a lot of starchy foods that don't have other redeeming qualities like lots of fiber). I also try to make the veggies and fruits (high water content food) the bulk of the meal. But for the protein and fat, I go to town with real cheese, butter, meat, etc. if I want it.

Anyway, I'm down about 3 - 4 lbs from when I started, so I feel ok about this strategy.

Hi, and welcome!

I think that any time you do something you are interested in, you are already halfway home! And I think you already have an idea that there is a need.

I might approach this by preparing an informational presentation about the topic and trying to let senior community centers, assisted iving homes, etc. give you space to present it.

Then you could end by demonstrating you products and collecting contact information to follow up. You would probably do better if you could get caretakers (younger family members, etc.) involved in this process.

Hi all.

I would like to get your opinion. I previously sold my own medical equipment business and would like to get started on a new venture. With my previous business, I really liked helping people, however I hated dealing with the government. That is why I thought of starting a medical alert consulting business. In a nutshell, I would help elderly people and people with medical conditions, live independently, without losing their peace of mind. I would help them decide on the right medical alert system based on their need and budget. I would also have medical alert jewerly and medicine dispensing units. I would not charge a consulting fee to my customer. I would get paid a commission based on the equipment and monthly fee for the medical alert service, and markup of the medical alert jewelry.

So now for my questions.

Do you think this is a good business idea? (Would this be something that you or a loved one would need?)

Do you think there is a need in the community?

Are there any other medical alert things that I should be providing?

Please feel free to give me your honest opinion.

Thanks so much in advance.

I hope I am not boring anybody with this, but I find it sort of helpful to keep a log or outline of my July diet adventure. Hopefully it will help guide or motivate somebody else.

So yesterday was a lazy Sunday.

Saturday - Party

I managed to just eat a sweeet potato and one of my "health sandwiches" before I went. The sandwich was a "thin" bun (about 100 calories) with lettuce, an ouce or so of real swiss cheese (why use fake), and spicy mustard. I put a little butter on my sweet potato. So I probably had about 350 - 400 calories before I went to the afternoon party, but the point here is my tummy was FULL.

So when I got to the party, I managed to satisfy myself with iced tea, fruit, and just a tiny bit of cheese - I kept myself from overdoing it on party pastry by arriving full!

Sunday

I did pretty well - I kept it at one of my big salads during the day. Then at dinner we went out for barbecue - I had a big old pile of beef - and tons of veggies - but skipped the rolls.

Monday Morning

I'm down a pound!

Justin, good for you!

If you've read anything about the glycemic index (food that make your body store fat or not), experts tell us that if you are going to have sugar – have it with some low glycemic index foods to balance it out.

I think that because you had your nice salad first – the effects of your frozen sugary treat were minimized. And you only ate 1 frozen pop – not a dozen – and you were satisfied.

So the point here is – you let yourself have a reward – but you ate the right stuff first – and so you were satisfied! Way to go!

Oh - and I think the diet solution does suggest avoiding soy - because some people find it actually slows down thyroid function - other experts say that it does not affect most people that way. If it works for you, soy is usually good food for most people. While I would not advise a chocolate soy milk only diet, I don't think moderate consumption is bad for most people.

Well, last night before bed, I was really craving a snack. Usually night time eats are a diet killer for me, but I know you (and the diet solution) say to avoid being hungry.

So it was a 6 oz can of tuna - with a moderate amount of light mayo - mixed in with greens and some really nice cherry tomatos I found. I added a handful of nuts for some crunch. I had that with about half a glass of chocolate soy milk because that seems to take the edge of my sweet cravings. I actually felt full, and was sure I had blown the day's weight loss.

Then I topped it off with one of those frozen fruit pops - full sugar, because that's all I had. So I really thought I blew it.

All I did for exercise was - again - moderate walking around for maybe 45 minutes - in the grocery store!

(I know some people say that soy makes them gain weight - but that has never been an issue with me)

I got up today, and I'm still losing! It seems to be all about filling up on the right stuff and letting yourself have a bit of the other stuff.

What I do notice about it is that you did not avoid fat, and even ate a bit of sugar - but you ate the right kids of fats - and minimized processed sugar.

I would say that dab of chocolate sauce is pure heath food! After all, chocolate comes from plants, and is high in anti-oxidants - we just can't over do it!

If anything, unless you left something out, you probably should eat a bit more.

OK Dawn. I did watch the video. Here's what else I did.

I threw out every box of cereal or diet bars or anything like that. I tossed my bread, which was sort of stale anyway.

I had a couple of eggs for breakfast. Yes, I used real butter and a little salt and pepper.

I ate one cheese sandwich with "good bread", a little cheese, and a smear of quacamole for lunch. Plus I added a big pile of straberries which are in-season here and cheap now. I had that with iced green tea.

For dinner I made a jumbo salad with spinach and other brocolli. I added a few sunflower seeds, a little sliced turkey, and some carefully chosen dressing. THEN - I treated myself with some frozen yogurt, a few few nuts, and just a dab of chocolate sauce.

For exercise yesterday, all I did was take a walk around a store.

Guess what - I'm half a pound lighter. And I really wasn't hungry or thinking about food all day. I think it is all about right-eating - and not starving. I had frozen yogurt. yum!

And yet, that said - if you are going hungry and still feel like you are overweight, I have to think you are relying on the wrong types of foods.

I used to do it too, and was on a terrible diet roller coaster. I wish you would spend a few minutes watching this free video - Diet Solution Program - because even if you do not buy the program, it should help you see some ways that you are eating more fat and sugar than you think you are. n

I saw one illustration from a doctor. It showed that a slice of cake did less to raise your glycemic index than many common breakfast cereals - that are advertised as healthy - do for you. Wow we might as well eat cake and be done with it.
