Exercise for Desk Warriors
If you sit in a chair for most of your work day as I do, you know how hard it is to keep your rear end from expanding to fill the whole chair! As we get a little older, it seems even harder to keep in shape while sitting over a hot computer. The thing is, it is not just flab and belly fat.
I think that a sedentary life like this can also contribute to anxiety. We all know that there is nothing like a brisk walk in the sunshine to put everything in perspective. However, if you just cannot fit that walk in the park into a busy schedule and full work load, here are some ideas I found.
Desk Crunches and Stretches
Try the Quick Desk Stretch to keep your body limber and reduce stress. If you take a couple of minutes to do this, I’ll bet you’re whole perspective will change. Even more than stretching, you can actually do belly crunches at your desk to tighten up those abs.
Weights And Grips
Those hand grips you squeeze, or even rubber balls, can help you tighten your arm muscles. The effort may actually help you loosen up too. You can also buy small weights that you can keep in a drawer. A few repetitions can move your heart rate up while toning your arms.
