There are some advantages of using E CIGS to smoke insted of lighting up your regular brand. We are not hear to make any health claims though because we are not qualified to do that.
- After you invest in a starter kit, they will be cheaper. We saw an example 5 pack of cartridges for about $14. If this is equal to 10 packs of cigarettes (a carton), you will save money.
- The “smoker” gets the feel of smoking, but without the smoke. Since there is no smoke, you can get your nicotine fix indoors without subjecting other people to second hand smoke. You can also use your e cig in places where smoking is normally prohibited.
- People who use e cigs say that they get the feel and taste of smoking, and the nictotine fix, so they are satisfying. We cannot claim they help people quit smoking, but we have had comments from e cig smokers that it has helped them cut back on their regular smoking habit. Since no smoke is drawn into the lungs, these people report feeling better too. Again, we are not qualified to make health claims.
- You can “smoke” without getting your clothes and hair all smelly.
Disadvantages of E Cigs (CONS)
We are not sure there are a lot of disadvantages of electronic cigarettes over regular ones. However, they may not help people kick the nicotine habit because they do not stop the addiction, but keep delivering nicotine.

So you are saying that electronic cigarettes might help you stop “smoking” because e cigs are vapor and not smoke. But they won’t help with a nicotine addiction. Is this right?

@DrDon – yeah – there’s that. But I think the biggest benefits are the ability to get the nicotine “fix” without smoke (i.e. second hand and the smell), plus after you spend money for the starter kit – it would be cheaper. Nobody claims they are a “stop smoking” aid – though some say they help them taper off.
So are you saying that you inhale water vapor (with additives) and no smokes with the electronic cigarette?

@Don – that’s the idea. It is a way to get a nicotine fix and the sensation of smoking without smoke.
The good thing about electronic cigarettes is they are certainly more healthy, they dont stink like smokes, and they don’t leave stains, ashes, or butts.
The bad: they are expensive, period. You pay $100+ for a kit, and then have to continue to buy liquid, atomizers, and batteries. It can add up fast, ESPECIALLY for those who buy their liquid at a local vendor instead of online (and these people either have no internet access or simply dont know they can save a ton of money online). People are lead to believe that they are cheap to use, but they can be just as expensive as cigarettes, sometimes more. I spent $20 a month on loose tobacco and rolled them myself. Now I pay $40 a month on liquid and atomizers that burn out. Tell me e-cigs are less expensive.
